A very quick update.

Andrew: Wears underwear all day everyday. Working on his words. Learning to ride a bike. An all the round great big boy.
Kaitlynn: Talks all day everyday. Such a little mom. Is always telling Andrew 'No No No' while shaking her little finger. Learning to ride a Tricycle but she would prefer a bike. She is growing up so fast.
David: Has his finals this week and starts summer school next week for the next five weeks.
Me: Hard at work and being a mom. Love decorating cakes. I have a lot to do in such little time.

Some Spring Cakes

I did a Birthday cake for a Customer this last week. And the only instructions I had beside the flavor of cake and filling, was "Decorate as close to picture as possible." So this is the picture that I was given.
This is my depiction of the picture on the cake.
This is the finished product. It turned out pretty good I think.
Then these last two pictures are for the same customer. She works for the studios and she brings them to her co-workers. She asked for 2 1/2 dozen cupcakes with pink and purple roses on top. The other set is 2 1/2 dozen cupcakes with yellow chickens on top. Everyone was impressed how the chickens turned out.
I was surprised too how they came out. I think they are going to keep me in my position.

Spring Break

I know that I'm a little late on posting about Spring break fun but I finally remembered to do a post. SO here it goes.
The only fun thing that we did all week was on the Tuesday of Spring Break on my day off from work. We drove up to Cal City to ride motorcycles and to meet our friends the Kimball's. The Kimball's were camping up there for the whole week.
Anyways, Kaitlynn hasn't been too excited about motorcycles when they are running. But as the day went on, she became more and more comfortable with them. She was walking up to them while the kids were riding around camp and trying to hitch rides with them.
This was right when we arrived in the middle of nowhere and David was starting his bike. Kaitlynn was running away but Drew was trying to climb onto the bike for a ride.
We snagged a helmet and goggles for Drew and David took him for a ride.
Kaitlynn was just happy to be hanging out in the Kimball's trailer. Until she realized the trailer can be very good slide.
While David was out on his ride with Neil and his dad, I took both the kids out on the Quad. They both were saying "WEEEEEE" the whole time. The long day ended on a good note.
Once we got on the rode to go home both the kids passed out.

We might be there...

Well today was a full day of underwear. Around 8 am I got the kids out of their room and I put underwear on Drew. By about 11 am Drew tapped me on the arm and motions that he needed to go to the bathroom. I quickly ran him into our bathroom to go potty. Then later that day around 3pm David was in the downstairs bathroom and Drew was knocking the door. As David was opening the door, Drew was running in pulling down his pants down to go potty. Then during dinner, Drew was playing in the backyard and we weren't watching him and he had a little accident. He got cleaned up and around 7pm he was doing the potty dance. David asked him he needed to go potty and Drew signed 'Yes' and they ran to the bathroom to go. With the day over, Drew did a really good job using the potty today. We had two accidents because we weren't paying attention to him but he is getting the hang of using the potty. We are so proud of how far he has come in such a short amount of time. We just will have to see how school goes tomorrow and with the kids being at my parent's house while I'm at work. My finger's are still crossed.

Making progress

Well Drew is totally potty trained when he is running around naked. The hurdle for him now is to pull his underwear down to go potty. So today after I got home from work, I put him in his training underwear. I played games with him to teach him to pull his underwear down when he needed to go. He did have two accidents because I was busy with Kaitlynn both times. But when I had the kids up stairs getting ready for bed, Drew was throwing a major tantrum. He tapped me on the arm and walked into the bathroom. Mind you he was still throwing a major tantrum. I pulled down his underwear and sat him on the toilet. He calmed down and went to the bathroom. He got a Girl Scout cookie for telling me he needed to go. I hope that we can do this more then once a day now but we just have to see. I hope that he doesn't digress again. I don't have the money to keep him in diapers. :)

Fingers crossed

Well, we are finally sticking to our guns with Potty Training Drew. Last week when I went shopping for Diapers and stuff, I decided to not get Drew his size in Diapers. I decided to just actively work with him using the potty. So he went to school in some training underwear everyday last week and they worked with him there. Then after school, we worked with him as well.
(As some of you may remember, that we have already worked with Potty training Drew before. When we almost had him fully potty trained, Drew regressed and we took a break from pushing him to use the potty. )We have had some successes and some accidents. He will go #2 in the potty with no problems with or without underwear on. The problems that we are having with him right now is realizing that he has underwear on. The last couple days, we have had him naked and he has been using his urinal with no problems. Every time he has been needing to go potty, he runs over and goes.Today we put him in underwear for a couple hours because we had some friends come over and he had two accidents. But I noticed that by the second accident today, he didn't like it. I don't know if it had anything to do with the other boys that were around with he had his accidents and their reactions to him. We will be working with Drew this whole next week since it is Spring Break and my finger's are crossed. I'm hoping that when he returns to school he'll be better at telling someone he needs to go potty and using the potty and not going in his pants. Drew can do it and I'm so proud of what he has already showed us so far.

New Me!!!

So David has been bugging me to get my hair done for a while now. So on my Day off last week, I made an appointment and got my hair done. Now what you have to understand is, I never know how I would like my hair. The only requests is that it is short enough to not put up, so I have to style my hair and that I stay a blond. So my hair Dresser, Laura, always has fun cutting my hair because she can do whatever she feels like doing to my hair.
Before:
After:
She really didn't cut that much off, but she gave me bangs. I haven't had bangs for a very long time. I am still getting used to the bangs.

Keep Reading there is another Post.

New Job!!!

I have a new job position at work. I am now over in the Bakery Department again. It has been several years since I have done Bakery. But this time I am the Cake Decorator and I am in charge of all the cakes. I have been doing the cakes for the past several weeks, and these a few of the special requests that I have gotten. This customer asked for Garfield and Barney. I had to free hand draw these on a cake. I love how Garfield turned out but I hate how Barney's head turned out.

I was really nervous to do this cake. But as I was making this cake, it turned out to be really easy. It just is time consuming.
This last cake is one of my everyday cakes. It is sooo Yummy but very rich!!! It is chocolate cake with fudge filling, fudge frosting and fudge boarders. The rose and leaves are butter-cream. This is one of best sellers.
I was put in the bakery because they need the sales to increase in that Department. I was that person that could give them that option. I was put in the Department and after just two days the cake sales have increased. Because the sales have increased I was able to get more hours. Yeah for more hours. More hours means more money.

Girls Weekend 2011

Every Year my sisters in laws all get together for a weekend to just hang out. This year I was able to afford to go because they were holding it in Arizona. I was all set to make the drive with my Mother in law to Arizona until the night before the trip. David came to me and informed me that he and the kids are coming with us. So I asked to borrow my parents car so that we all could fit comfortably. (They came with us to Arizona because the wood floors were getting re-done and they weren't getting finished till Tuesday) So Friday morning around 9 am we were on the road. Both of the kids sat in the third row of my parents Expedition. I had the middle seat all to myself.
Kaitlynn is saying "Cheese".
Drew is showing me his picture that he did.

When we got to Arizona we dropped David and the kids off at his Brother Mike's house and we hopped in Amanda's car to meet for dinner. We went to a place called Tia Rosa.
Lisa, Jennifer, Carrie, Carol, Amanda, Me
After Dinner we went to the hotel to play some games. The next morning all went to the Salon at 11 am and got our nails done.Carrie, Jennifer, Amanda and Carol got their toes done.
Lisa and I got our nails done.
After our appointment at the salon, we went to a late lunch at Olive Garden. It was delicious.
After lunch we spent the next several hours in the car driving around looking at Carrie's and Jennifer's new homes they just bought. Then to the mall to buy some make-up for Carol. Then to pick up the dessert for the night and dropping in off at the hotel. Then we made it to our movie, The Adjustment Bureau. After the movie we did some more driving around until we made it back to the hotel. I was so tired by the end of this day that I went home with Amanda to sleep in bed with my kids. I said my good-byes to the Sisters and the next day we made the drive home.
