Summer Vacation
This last weekend David and I took the kids on a short vacation. David's sister, Lisa, and her family are visiting from Connecticut. On Sunday we followed Lisa and her husband Mike up to Mike's Grandparents cabin in Mineral King. This is the outside of this great cabin. It has an added room down stairs and attic space that can sleep 10 people. It was built long ago and needs a little love but it worked just fine.
As soon as we arrived both kids took off exploring the woods around the cabin. Drew took off to visit the neighbors and Kaitlynn stayed right bye the cabin climbing in the dirt. When we arrived at the cabin we found out that the water heater and fridge wasn't working.

David and I were suppose to cook the dinner for that first night but with no fridge Mike and Lisa's fish wouldn't survive the day. SO they cooked up their dinner and saved ours for Monday night. Mike entertained Kaitlynn while he made our Sunday dinner.
After a long night for David and I with Kaitlynn, we got a nap before getting up for our second day. David cooked breakfast while I watched Drew outside. Mike decided to fix the table and Drew was happy to help. Drew found a hammer and hammered some of the nails into the table. He was a huge help.
David made the best Blueberry pancakes. They were so good that no one was willing to eat them. (Lisa's kids don't like blueberries and we didn't know) Since the pancakes were a bomb David made everyone eggs.
After breakfast, Drew and David played around outside. They visited the river where Drew tried to dive into the freezing water. After coming back from the water, Drew ran into some friends that he met the day before. They were building a fort and Drew made himself at home.
Drew sure did love playing outside. He wouldn't stay inside the cabin for very long.

In the afternoon, some one had the awesome idea of walking 2 miles down the hill to have our lunch at a park. It took us 1 hour to walk down the hill and I wasn't willing to walk back up. Lucky for us, David and Mike drove down with the food and we all got a ride back up the hill. Both the kids had fun playing on the slides, swinging and running around. As we were eating lunch, Kaitlynn was walking around. Everyone had a eye on her to make sure that she getting into trouble. We all looked away for one second and when we looked back Kaitlynn had managed
to get dirty. We were all baffled at what happened.

After the park adventure we returned back at the cabin and David cooked us all a stake dinner. After dinner, David and I loaded up the car and we drive the 4 hrs home. We were going to stay the next two days but from the first night that we had with Kaitlynn we wanted to sleep in our own beds. Everyone got a shower and a good nights rest.
